EWSD System (Elektronisches Wählsystem Digital)

The EWSD is a digital telephone exchange developed by Siemens from the late 1970s onward. Unlike the S12, it relies on a more centralised control architecture, with a coordination processor (CP) managing the entire system. Known for its high capacity and reliability, the EWSD was one of the best-selling switching systems worldwide and was deployed across numerous national networks.
