Description
The Berchem switchboard is a bit of an odd one out. The exchange is located in Brussels, but also serves Dilbeek (in Flanders). At the time the language laws were enacted, the 02BER prefix had to be split into two parts: 02BER -> Brussels and 02DIL -> Flanders. The phone numbers were also separated: the Dilbeek network served the prefixes 02/466, 02/463, and 02/467, while 02BER served the numbers 02/465, 02/468, 02/464, and 02/469.
